Today: A Precious Commmodity

When my wife and I went to the doctor’s yesterday, a man held the door for my wife. She thanked him for being so patient as she made her way inside. He smiled, saying: “It’s okay. God, gave me twenty-four hours. It’s good to have them.”

He’s right. We all have twenty-four hours. You don’t get any more than I do. We can’t save any of them for tomorrow. So I’m asking you to think about how you’re using yours. Every day brings new challenges. Unexpected opportunities as well as crises. How you handle them is what shapes your life.

Because a picture is worth a thousand words, take time to think about this today:

SAFE HARBOR

With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.                                                                                                     – Eleanor Roosevelt

ON COURSE

A man who dares waste one hour of time                                                                 has not discovered the value of Life.                                                                                                                                 –  Charles Darwin

PALM ON BLUE SKY WITH CLOUD

The world is plotting to do me good today.

I can’t wait to see what it is.

THE BATHS FOR BLOG

You must live in the present,

Launch yourself on every wave,

Find your Eternity in each moment.

                                                                                       – Henry David Thoreau

JOLLY ROGER SAILS

He only earns his freedom and his life

who takes every day by storm.

                                                                  – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Enjoy your life today. All twenty-four hours. Moment by moment. Minute by minute. Spend them wisely. But don’t forget to have fun no matter what you’re doing. And as Marthe Troly-Curtin once reminded us and John Lennon repeated, even “Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.”
